I started my career in conventional medicine as a Physical Therapist many years ago, but more recently I became interested in natural health during my own wellness journey. I was searching for a solution for my debilitating gut issues, increasing joint pain, and a frustrating 30-pound weight gain that I could not lose. I was living with constant, worsening knee and hip pain, difficulty walking, daily episodes of gastric bloating after meals, and a concern that I was never going to get my life back and feel good again. It was affecting all aspects of my life.
Doctors and conventional medicine offered me little in the way of a solution. I was told there was nothing wrong. The advice I got was to eat less and exercise more, eliminate foods that made me bloat, and accept the aging process. It was hard to figure out the right foods to eliminate as it seemed everything affected me. Even “good for you” foods like salads and veggies. Pharmaceuticals were prescribed to try reducing my pain and manage my stomach issues. These just made everything worse. I was frustrated and discouraged and felt like there were no answers.
